CHAPTER 11
ALOHANET CASE STUDY
- Why would TDM or FDM have been inefficient for it?
Because messages from mobile/subscriber announcing its presence is quite short and infrequent, poor utilization of channels is not a problem (problem that is covered with TDM and FDM).
- Would polling be a feasible option?
- How would you improve the Aloha protocol?
- Can you think of a way to gain the flexibility of Aloha random access while still using the channel efficiently?
